The American Senate supported the appointment of Lynn Tracy as the ambassador of the United States of America to the

Russian Federation.

This is reported by Reuters.

Tracy was nominated by President Joe Biden.

During the voting, her appointment was supported by the vast majority of senators.  

Lynn Tracy currently serves as the US Ambassador to Armenia.

She was also the deputy ambassador in Moscow from 2014 to 2017.

The politician worked in US diplomatic missions in a number of post-Soviet countries and speaks Russian.

By the way, Lynn Tracy will become the first woman to head the American diplomatic mission in Russia.

It will be recalled that on September 4, 

John J. Sullivan completed his work as the

US ambassador to Russia.

He left Moscow.

Deputy head of the American mission in the Russian Federation, Elizabeth Rood, performed the duties of the US embassy's chargé d'affaires.
