Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has termed the audio clip as fake.

new Delhi:

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is embroiled in a major controversy over a leaked audio clip purportedly of his intimate conversation with a woman.

Pakistani journalist Syed Ali Haider shared these audio clips which surfaced just a few months before the general elections to be held in the country, but it is being claimed in some news that this audio has surfaced from the Prime Minister's Office of Pakistan.

Many of Imran Khan's purported conversations have been allegedly leaked since his ouster earlier this year, and these audio clips that have gone viral are the latest in a series.

Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called the audio clip fake, and accused the government of resorting to fake audio and video to target its opponents.

PTI leader Arsalan Khalid said, "The opponents of the PTI chairman cannot think beyond making fake audios and videos..."

In the audio recording purportedly of a conversation between cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and a woman, the man can be heard making lewd comments and insisting on meeting her.

The man, who resembles the former prime minister of Pakistan, asks the woman to meet, but the reluctant woman declines.

They then talk about meeting the next day, but the man says he will confirm the meeting later, as his family is coming to visit.

The male voice is heard saying, "I will see if it will be possible or not as my family and children are coming... I will try, their visit will be a little late... I will tell tomorrow... "

As of now, the identity of the voice in the audio clips is yet to be confirmed by Imran Khan, but the former Prime Minister of Pakistan has started getting bashed in the online world.

Naila Inayat, a journalist and South Asian correspondent, tweeted, "In the alleged sex call leak, Imran Khan has become Emraan Hashmi..."
