Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi invited the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to address the Congress on December 21.

"In the face of Putin's horrific atrocities, Ukrainian freedom fighters inspired the world with an iron will and indomitable spirit — fighting back against Russia's brutal, unjustified invasion. In this dark moment, your courageous, patriotic, tireless leadership rallied not only your people, but the entire world to joined the front of the fight for freedom," Speaker Pelosi wrote in a letter to President Zelensky. 

She invited the Ukrainian leader to speak in Congress on December 21. 

Zelensky's visit to the USA: what is known 

On the night of December 20, it became known that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy left for the USA.

There he plans to meet with the American leader and thank the USA for its support to Ukraine. 

US President Joe Biden announced that he was waiting for Zelensky's visit, stressing that they had something to talk about. 

The Kremlin is dissatisfied with the visit of the President of Ukraine to the USA.

Putin's spokesman Peskov said that "Russia does not expect anything good."
