Durg:

BJP leader Ajay Chandrakar addressed a public meeting on Tuesday wearing a cricket helmet in protest against the incident of stone pelting in Supela, Chhattisgarh.

Everyone was surprised when he reached the public meeting wearing a cricket helmet.

On this he said that he wore it in protest against the stone pelting attack on him in Supela.

Addressing the program, the BJP leader said, 'Stones were thrown at me in Supela.

But the stone pelters forgot that they were throwing stones not only at me but at the people of Chhattisgarh.

Chandrakar also attacked Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge's statement claiming that his party had given "freedom to the country" and asked if anyone from the BJP had made a similar sacrifice in the freedom struggle.

He said, "Which Congress leader attained martyrdom in the freedom struggle? None of those who sacrificed their lives was a Congressman. Can Kharge-ji name one person (belonging to the Congress) other than Lal Lajpat Rai?" , who gave his life for the country."

He also hit back at Kharge's 'dog' remark.

He said, "Calling someone a dog is not a cultured language. Such language is the legacy of the Nehru-Gandhi family."

He was speaking at a BJP meeting in Durg ahead of the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh next year.

Incidents of stone pelting had come to the fore during a BJP program in Supela.

The matter was brought to the notice of the police, but the culprits have not been traced yet.
