The Bulgarian Socialist Party (abbreviated as BSP) has not yet decided whether to support the second mandate, the chairman of the social commission, Georgi Gyokov, said in "The Day Begins"

Georgi Gyokov was born in the village of Ljubenovo, Radnevo municipality.

He graduated from secondary education in Stara Zagora.

According to him, minority governments have a hard time surviving on the Bulgarian political scene, but he defined as an innovation the idea of "Continuing the change" for a program agreement with measures between all parliamentary groups.

"Perhaps it is good. The PP's letter arrived in our parliamentary group, we got acquainted with it. We will hold a meeting and maybe we will convene the governing bodies. It is only on first reading, I see in the priorities that it says a minimum wage of 50% of the average, it doesn't say gross minimum wage anywhere. There are nice things there that sound good in the space," he commented.

He stated that in the letter there were no conditions from the PP for the paper ballot, but there were others - such as the issue of the Eurozone.

Ivan Ivanov (BSP): If the PP does not bring in a cabinet, it will suffer serious negative consequences

Gyokov also commented on the decisions of the social commission from yesterday regarding the minimum wage, stating that Bulgaria adheres to the practice of it being 50% of the average wage.

"However, what we adopted yesterday regarding the minimum wage has nothing to do with the proposal of the PG of the BSP

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (abbreviated BSP) is because we, with one word and one dropped paragraph, almost canceled what was proposed by the BSP

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (abbreviated BSP) is. We decided that the rule of 50% of the average salary should apply from 2024, but for this year this paragraph was dropped."

According to the deputy, the caretaker government will not set the minimum wage in the amount expected by society and workers.

"The government even gave a request as to what it will be - BGN 770. And according to the rule, the calculations show that it should be at least BGN 850. This is indeed a serious increase, but if we leave BGN 770 now, then in 2024, when it is calculated according to the rule, it will jump much more and this will be unbearable for employers", he pointed out.

A concept such as gross minimum wage is not defined in any document in the Bulgarian legislation and gives the opportunity for GERB and PP to interpret it in different ways, Gyokov also said.

"Gross salary is formed by the basic salary plus all additional payments. But PP, apparently because of some commitment or vision of theirs, announced that the class of time served should be dropped".

According to the socialist, this is a deprivation of rights, he hopes that the proposal will be withdrawn or that the National Assembly will reject it.
