Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi may go to Washington

, meet with US President Joe Biden and visit Congress on Wednesday, sources familiar with the situation said.

This will be Zelenskyi's first known trip outside the country since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in late February.

Zelensky is expected to arrive at the US Capitol on Wednesday, a source familiar with the plans said on Tuesday.

The trip has not yet been confirmed and security threats could force a change of plans, the source said.
