The family of the former president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, was granted political asylum in Mexico.

APA reports that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, made a statement about this.

They were placed in the Mexican embassy in Peru.

According to him, negotiations are currently underway to relocate the Castillo family to Mexico if they wish.

It should be noted that the court of Peru decided to arrest the country's former president Pedro Castillo for 7 days on Thursday.

He was accused of sedition.
