Bihar and Jharkhand ranked at the bottom in the Social Progress Index.

New Delhi:

The Central Government has released the Social Progress Index.

In this, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and Goa have won the race for the best state.

On the other hand, talking about the districts, Aizawl of Mizoram state and Solan and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh have been included in the best districts.

The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council has released these figures in collaboration with the Institute for Competitiveness and Social Progress Imperative.

This status of states and districts has been decided on the basis of 12 parameters including the basic needs and possibilities of the people.

Under all this, nutrition, basic health services, water, cleanliness, security, living conditions, environmental conditions and access to modern education have been measured as a scale.

All the states and districts across the country are divided into 6 tiers.

In this, Puducherry had the highest score of 65.99 in the Social Progress Index.

At the same time, Bihar and Jharkhand remained at the bottom.
