Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran should strengthen the work towards the integration of energy systems.

APA reports that Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov said this in a meeting with Iran's Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian.

According to him, the main issue in the project is to ensure the reliability and stability of the energy systems of Russia and Iran.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation of the Sirik thermal power plant project in Iran.

At the same time, the Iranian side emphasized that it is interested in cooperation in the field of construction of thermal power plants and production of renewable energy sources in Iran using Russian energy equipment, including gas turbines.

"Russian companies are interested in cooperation with Iranian partners in the field of transfer of gas turbine technologies and establishment of their joint production.

There is great potential for cooperation here," said Shulginov.
