The former deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine Viktor Yagun called Moldova's statement about a possible attack by Russia in 2023 critical and explained whether such a scenario is possible.

This was said in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by reserve major general of the Security Service of Ukraine, former deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine Viktor Yagun.

"The statement regarding the fact that the Russians are left to take Bakhmut, and after that - Transnistria... How can you react to the "nonsense" that was said?... First of all, it is the journalists' fault: a person spoke about his assessment, which just sounded in some contexts, but it was definitely not said that the Russians are going to capture Moldova. Maybe someone does not know geography, but in order to reach Moldova after Bakhmut, there are several more cities in Ukraine. Therefore, let's be realistic." - said Yagun.

It should be noted that earlier in Ukraine it was reported about the transfer of Russian military groups to Transnistria.

At the same time, NATO does not see the military potential of the Russian Federation to seize Moldova through unrecognized Transnistria.
