France handed over Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, which will help protect the sky from Russian attacks.

This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the TF1 channel.

In recent days, France has delivered additional weapons, rocket launchers, Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems, equipment, in addition to what we have already done," he said.

Macron added that he was working with his defense minister, Sébastien Lecorne, to provide additional weapons and ammunition in the first quarter of 2023 so that Ukrainians "could defend themselves against the bombings."

Planned deliveries include new Caesar artillery units, but Macron did not give exact numbers.

Crotale

is a French short-range air defense system designed to combat air targets in the range of medium, low and extremely low altitudes.

It can be used as an anti-aircraft defense system for strategically important strongholds as well as direct cover of troops.

According to experts, this SAM will be especially useful in the fight against Iranian "martyrs" who are once again terrorizing Ukraine.

Caesar

is a new-generation self-propelled 155-mm self-propelled artillery system.

The firing range is up to 40 km.

The French president announced the transfer of these self-propelled guns to Ukraine in April 2022.

On May 5, 2022, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi published a photo of the use of these installations at the front.
