The resignation of the mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov

Zdravko Dimitrov Dimitrov is a Bulgarian politician, Regional Governor of the Plovdiv Region. He was born on and the councilors from the ObS want protesting citizens at today's last session of the local parliament of the year.

The reason is controversial and scandalous, according to them, decisions of the administration of Plovdiv, which are not in the interest of the city and its residents.

The mayor did not attend the meeting of the City Council.

One of the controversial items on the agenda concerns drilling under the Water Palace.

The mayor proposes either its continuation or its final suspension, and 750,000 BGN should be allocated to compensate the contractors and to restore the destroyed infrastructure.

According to the protesters, the amount is scandalously large, especially since the project was launched without public consultation.

However, they said that this option was the "lesser evil" of continuing construction of the borehole.

The protesters also brought the signature against the development of 81 decares of the Rowing Base.

They are adamant that not a single project in the city in recent years has been implemented as it should be.

Part of the agenda of the meeting of the Security Council is the proposal of the Plovdiv District Court that the Ukrainian refugees use the former Lung Hospital in the city until they need protection and asylum, and not as it is at the moment - until the end of this year or until the end of hostilities .

Ukrainian refugees accommodated in the building are also present at the session, led by the Ukrainian Natalia Ellis.

Plovdiv residents protest because of the removal of a roundabout

The saga with the Fair continues at this session of the General Assembly, because of the next meeting of the shareholders "Paldin Tourinvest" for the contribution of the Varna shares.

The local parliament must again decide whether its representative will vote "no" on the deal.

The office received a proposal from the owner of the Fair, Georgi Gergov, in which he proposes that if the councilors say "yes" to the contribution, the Municipality should receive 2% of the company's capital and 6 acres in the fair for the construction of an Opera House.

However, DB Plovdiv warned that the danger of the city losing 350 decares of land at the Fair is very likely.

Their proposal to put the point to a vote at the beginning of the meeting was not accepted, and this again caused tension in the hall and shouts of "Resignation", and the chairman of the Board of Governors gave a 1-hour break.

The Council of Ministers also debated the 10-year grant of the house at "Betoven Street" 7, a cultural monument, to a newly established foundation for the creation of a Museum of Tolerance.

As a reciprocal gesture, the municipality will receive the building at 38 "Knyaz Alexander Batenberg" street, which will be given to the Plovdiv theater.

The giving of a 7-acre plot of land on the Peštersko road, allocated for the expansion of the road, for a parking lot, was dropped from the agenda of the meeting.
