The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) plans to conduct a series of exercises in 2023 on the organization's western borders.

APA reports that CSTO General Secretary Stanislav Zas said this during his speech at the Moscow-Astana-Bishkek-Iravan-Minsk video bridge organized with the participation of "Sputnik" websites.

"Measures carried out jointly with Russia on the territory of Belarus are of a deterrent nature," Zas answered the question about the necessity of strengthening the western borders of the CSTO.

He also added that although these measures are sufficient in the current situation, a number of trainings have been planned by CSMT next year.

He said that this can also be considered as a "strategic deterrence" measure.

"Regarding the creation of peacekeeping forces of the organization, no expansion is planned at the moment.

Also, we can quickly deploy a large group of our peacekeeping forces if necessary, and we have everything for that," Zas stressed.
