The Russian occupiers continue to bombard Ukraine with missiles and Iranian drones.
The occupiers are shelling the front line with all their weapons and continue to attack in the Bakhmut and Avdiiv directions.
This was stated in a message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 19.
During the day, the Russians launched 1 missile attack, and also launched about 10 attacks from rocket salvo systems.
The enemy also used 28 Iranian Shahed-136 attack UAVs, 23 of which were shot down by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of enemy strikes, civilian infrastructure and the civilian population were damaged.
There were no significant changes in the Volyn and Poliske directions, and no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
In the Slobozhansk direction, the enemy shelled our positions with artillery in the areas of the settlements of Strelecha, Hlyboke, Vovchansk and Dvorichna of the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupyansk and Lymansk directions, the enemy fired at the districts of Kotlyarivka, Krokhmalny, and Berestovo in the Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Ploshanka, Chervonopivka, and Dibrova in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut and Avdiiv directions, the enemy continues to conduct assaults, fired from tanks, mortars and rocket artillery at our positions in the areas of twenty-five settlements.
Among them are Verkhnyokamianske, Berestovka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdyumivka, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region.
On the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the occupiers continue to shell the areas of Temyrivka, Chervone, Mali Shcherbaki and Plavna settlements of the Zaporizhia region and the city of Kherson, where civil infrastructure and civilians were once again affected.
The General Staff confirmed the shelling of the Russian occupation army in the Berdyansk, Tokmak and Pologiv districts of the Zaporizhia region, destroyed an ammunition depot, about 15 units of military equipment of various types, and injured more than 150 servicemen of the Russian occupation forces.
"During the day, the Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and anti-aircraft defense and 5 strikes on the positions of the invaders' anti-aircraft missile systems. Air defense forces shot down two enemy helicopters today. Information about their type is currently being clarified. Missile troops and artillery units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine during the current day, an ammunition warehouse, 2 control points and 2 areas of concentration of the enemy's manpower were hit," the General Staff reported.
Russia's war against Ukraine
On February 24, Russia began a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine.
The occupying army wanted to capture Kyiv "in three days" and establish its puppet regime.
However, the Armed Forces neutralized the plans of the occupiers and conducted successful counteroffensives in the northern regions, in the Kharkiv and Kherson directions.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian terrorists have been shelling Ukraine with missiles, destroying our infrastructure.
Since October 10, the occupiers have launched massive rocket attacks on Ukraine's energy sector in order to leave Ukrainians without heat and electricity in winter.
