In Greece, the payment of aid of 250 euros as compensation for expensive food has begun.

The state budget also covers part of the increase in the price of fuel and electricity.

More than two million Greeks are entitled to a one-time aid of 250 euros, according to the Ministry of Finance.

This is a Christmas bonus to offset high food prices.

The planned funds for this purpose in the budget are 750 million euros.

The amount is transferred to the citizens' bank account.

The aid is aimed at pensioners with low incomes, unemployed, large families.

It can also be used by foreigners meeting the criteria who live permanently in Greece and pay taxes in the country.

Along with the Christmas bonus, millions of Greeks also receive compensation for high electricity and heating prices.

According to the comments of the opposition, these benefits do not have a tangible impact on the family budget, because the price increase is much higher than the allocated funds.
