The two men who rescued the passengers from the crashed bus near Svilengrad received certificates of valor in saving human lives from the mayor of Yambol, Valentin Revanski, the press center of the municipality announced.

Krastyo Butsev and Georgi Sovadzhiev from Yambol were the first to arrive at the scene of the accident.

The two men immediately began to remove the passengers from the overturned bus - citizens of Burgas who were traveling on an excursion to Kavala.

"It was a scary sight, but we had to keep our composure and help as many people as possible.

Everyone should do just that,” they shared.

The bus with about 40 excursionists from Burgas, returning from Greece, overturned in a deep ravine near the village of Mladinovo on December 11.

A woman died and 19 passengers were injured in the accident.
