North Korean leader Kim Jong-un did not attend the commemoration in person on the 11th anniversary of the death of his father and former supreme leader Kim Jong-il.

For the second day, North Korea marks the 11th anniversary of the death of the former leader.

As is tradition, international organizations, foreign political parties, organizations and activists laid flowers in front of the bronze statues of former DPRK leaders on Mansudae Hill.

North Korean media continue to publish articles praising Kim Jong Il's merits and contributions to the country's development.
