[Reporter Xie Junlin/Report from Taipei] The National Human Rights Commission held the "Human Rights Poster Design Competition" for the first time this year, and the award ceremony will be held today (18).
Chen Ju, chairman of the Commission on Human Rights, said in her speech that the purpose of holding the event is to make more people care about human rights, understand human rights, think about human rights and human dignity, and implement human rights awareness in their lives. The idea of human rights has been passed on, so that Taiwan's concept of human rights as an important national value can be more mature.
In order to strengthen human rights education and exchanges, the Human Rights Council organizes the "2022 Human Rights Poster Design Competition" to allow participants to understand the concept and value of human rights through poster design.
More than 700 entries were collected, and 57 winners were finally selected.

In her speech, Chen Ju said that this is the first time that the Commission for Human Rights held a poster design competition. Since the announcement of the call for entries on July 22, more than 700 entries have been submitted in just 45 days. Thank you for your active concern for human rights and your ingenuity and creativity Integrate multiple issues such as current affairs in life, integrate the concept of human rights into poster design, and work together to promote the concept of human rights.
Chen Ju pointed out that in order to allow more people to appreciate the works of the competition, the Human Rights Council organized a campaign to appreciate the selected posters on the Internet, and received more than 1,000 responses in just one month. The new generation in Taiwan cares about human rights and is full of enthusiasm, creativity, and imagination for human rights. They are really happy and very moved.
Chen Ju also mentioned that last week she was invited to Berlin, Germany to participate in the International Human Rights Day event. The temperature was minus 7 or 8 degrees. When she visited the Stasi Archives Office, she recalled Taiwan's freedom and democracy, and she felt deeply moved; Human rights, freedom, and human rights are not taken for granted, no matter where they are, and they are not taken for granted. No matter in ancient or modern times, in China or abroad, human rights, freedom, and dignity are won by many people who pay the price, youth, and even their lives.

Chen Ju said that the Human Rights Council attaches great importance to this poster competition. There are so many people in the social group and student group who care about human rights, which means that the country's human rights are moving forward step by step and are making progress.
