Von der Leyen emphasized that the electrical cable under the Black Sea offers various opportunities.

The project will bring significant benefits to Georgia, a country with a European destiny, which through it can become an electricity hub and integrate into the EU energy market.

The cable could also provide electricity transmission to Moldova and the Western Balkans, as well as to Ukraine, where it could contribute to the recovery of the Ukrainian energy system and the country as a whole, she said.
