A new Russian offensive on

Kyiv

in January-February 2023 is unlikely to be possible due to the occupiers' failed preparations, according to the former commander of the US Ground Forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Godges.

The retired American general wrote his opinion on Twitter.

He reminded that the last partial mobilization in Russia failed, and therefore believes that the occupiers will not be able to properly prepare the troops for a new major offensive against Ukraine.

"I doubt that Russia will be able to assemble a force of this size in this time, let alone of the appropriate quality," Godges wrote.

The ex-US general added that the exaggeration of the potential of new Russian offensive operations benefits those who are looking for excuses not to support Ukraine with arms.

We will remind, in an interview with The Economist, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that the Russian Federation is preparing about 200,000 new soldiers and that he has no doubts that the Russian army will make another attempt to attack Kyiv.
