"On Friday, December 16, a massive strike was carried out on (Ukrainian) military management systems, the military-industrial complex and energy facilities" that support their operations, with long-range, air- and sea-based precision weapons.
The goal was achieved, all the targeted objects were struck, said the spokesman of the ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, quoted by TASS.
"As a result of the strike, the delivery of foreign-made weapons and ammunition was prevented, the movement of (Ukrainian forces) reserves to the combat zones was blocked, the work of enterprises for the production and repair of weapons was suspended," the ministry said.
A "point of temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries in the Donetsk People's Republic" was also hit, in the area of the city of Krasniy Liman, Konashenkov said.
Yesterday, Ukraine said it was hit by new Russian missile strikes that cut off water supplies to the capital, Kyiv, and cut power across the country, leaving it in the cold.
