Former and current officials of world countries say that neither Ukraine nor Russia see any benefit for themselves in the negotiations and are moving towards a potential impasse.

Politico writes about it.

"Honestly, I don't see any prospects for negotiations now," said the head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Schallenberg.

"But the main thing is that this opportunity is preserved."

The newspaper notes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is too immersed in the war to turn it back, moreover, it could lead to the fall of his regime.

The regular supply of Western weapons enables motivated Ukrainians to continue the fight.

Meanwhile, neither side yet has the resources to ensure a quick victory.

"The most likely scenario looks vague. The war could reach a stalemate or turn into a frozen conflict," said a high-ranking European diplomat.

"I am hearing rumors about possible peace talks," Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said this week, adding that the sources of these rumors are not in Ukraine or the Russian Federation.

NATO representatives also do not see that the conditions on the battlefield would be favorable for negotiations, as both the Russian Federation and Ukraine are considering the possibility of conducting hostilities in 2023.

According to Andrea Kendall-Taylor, who previously directed the work of the US intelligence community on the strategic analysis of the Russian Federation, the war will not end as long as Putin remains in power.

Negotiations with Russia

The adviser to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, emphasized that the dictator of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is unable to negotiate, because he despises international law and directly declares his intentions to kill civilians and illegally seize foreign territories.

ISW believes that Putin is using calls for a negotiation process to

isolate Ukraine from the support of Western partners.

In addition, he needs any ceasefire and window for dialogue to give his troops time to recover, depriving Ukraine of the initiative.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed his belief that Russia does not want peace talks.

After Volodymyr Zelensky announced the "peace formula",

dictator Putin tripled the terror.
