On Friday, December 16, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with missiles, damaging the

critical infrastructure of

the energy system.

As a result of the attack, many cities in Ukraine were without electricity and water. 

The DTEK company published a video showing a damaged energy facility that was hit by a missile.

"Now, our energy engineers are working with the equipment, trying to repair it where possible. This particular object is being partially restored after a series of missile attacks. However, it will be able to be fully operational only after the end of the war," the message reads.

On Friday morning, December 16, Russia launched another

massive missile attack on Ukraine

The Russian invaders fired 76 rockets into Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the Russians damaged approximately

nine generation facilities

.

In addition, the capacity of nuclear power plants was limited.

As of December 17,

the electricity deficit

in the system is still significant.

All oblenergos have proven consumption limits.  

Restoration work is ongoing

in the Kyiv region

, about 50% of the region currently remains without electricity.
