- Dear Colleagues.

Ladies and gentleman.

First of all, I would like to thank President Yohannis for inviting me and hosting such an important event.

The implementation of the Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission, to be signed today, will be our overall contribution to Europe's energy security.

This Agreement is an important step towards the creation of a green energy corridor.

I would like to express my special gratitude to the President of the European Commission Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen for her continuous support to Azerbaijan in energy security and diversification projects.

In July of this year, during Mrs. von der Leyen's visit to Azerbaijan, we signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Azerbaijan and the European Union on strategic partnership in the field of energy, and we have already started the implementation of that document.

Last year, Azerbaijan's natural gas export to the European Union market was 8.2 billion cubic meters, this year it is 11.3 billion cubic meters.

Next year, its volume will be at least 11.6 billion cubic meters.

The total volume of natural gas to be exported from Azerbaijan next year will be approximately 24 billion cubic meters.

For comparison, in 2021, it was 19 billion cubic meters.

Yesterday, the State Oil Company and Romgaz signed an agreement on the supply of gas from Azerbaijan to Romania from January 1, 2023.

Thus, Azerbaijan expands the geography of its gas supply to the European market.

This is a win-win situation, as Europe needs gas to maintain its energy security, and Azerbaijan needs a reliable market for its vast energy resources.

Today we are starting to build another energy bridge to Europe.

Our country plans to become an important supplier of electricity, mainly green energy, in Europe.

As for the renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, the volume of wind and solar energy on land is more than 27 gigawatts, and in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, wind energy is 157 gigawatts.

With one of our country's strategic investors, we plan to produce 3 gigawatts of wind and 1 gigawatt of solar energy by 2027.

80 percent of them will be exported.

We plan to create at least 6 gigawatts of additional power by 2037.

Thus, only one global energy company plans to invest in the production of 10 gigawatts of green energy in Azerbaijan.

Two days ago, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan signed a framework agreement with another global energy company.

That company plans to invest in the production of up to 12 gigawatts of wind and solar energy in Azerbaijan.

Thus, at least 3 gigawatts of additional transmission capacity will be created in the first phase of Azerbaijan's export.

To achieve our goals, we must work efficiently.

Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, Romania should work as a team in close cooperation and coordination with the European Union.

I wish all of us good luck.

Thank you.
