On Friday, December 16, two more Cherkasy policemen died in the hospital after being blown up by enemy mines in the Kherson region.

Then, during stabilization measures, four policemen were killed, and four more were seriously injured. 

This was reported in the press service of the National Police.

"For ten days, doctors fought for the lives of senior police sergeant Viktor Mazurenko, the driver of platoon No. 1 of Company No. 2 of the Special Purpose Police Battalion of the GUNP in Cherkasy Oblast, and Police Lieutenant Mykhailo Pustovit, the inspector of Platoon No. 2 of Company No. 2 of the Special Purpose Police Battalion of the GUNP in Cherkasy Oblast.

But, unfortunately, today their hearts stopped," the message reads.   

The staff of the National Police of Ukraine expressed their condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. 

"We bow our heads in sorrow and will always remember our brothers," their colleagues say. 

We will remind, on December 7, four policemen were killed in the Kherson region, who were carrying out stabilization measures in the region.

Law enforcement officers were blown up by Russian landmines.

Among the dead is the head of the National Police of the Cherkasy region Mykhailo Kuratchenko.

The next day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree on posthumously honoring the fallen policemen with state awards.

At the same time, he reported that the police had fallen into a mine trap.
