A total of 32 people sitting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol were found by the police over the last 24 hours, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

Another eight drivers tested positive for drugs, six refused to be tested.

The checks are part of the specialized police operation for compliance with the Road Traffic Act. 

During the past 24 hours, a total of 10,678 drivers and passengers were checked, 2,383 slips and 600 acts for administrative violations were drawn up.

The data are intermediate and include results received by 4:00 p.m., the Ministry of the Interior specifies.

In 14 serious accidents on the territory of the country during the last 24 hours, 17 people were injured and no one died, the Ministry of the Interior announced earlier.
