The Russian Embassy in the capital of Latvia has officially changed its address.

From now on, all correspondence of Russian diplomats will be sent from Independence Street of Ukraine.

This was announced by the mayor of Riga, Martinš Stakis, in a message on Twitter.

"The Russian Embassy is located on Nezalezhnosti Ukrainy Street! #StandWithUkraine," the post reads.

Slēpjoties aiz konvenzijas, the Russian embassy ignored the demand to rename the plāksni, which was written by the young names of the streets.

The city council of the Latvian capital decided to change the name of Antonijas Street on the section between Kalpaka Boulevard and Roerich Street, where the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation is located, on March 10.

Within two months, new pointers were supposed to appear here, and the change of addresses of objects located here was supposed to last a month.

However, the Russian embassy avoided updating the name of the street for a long time.

"Under the guise of a convention, the Russian embassy ignored the demand to change the sign with the new name of the street. The Duma of Riga in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia found a solution, the die was replaced," wrote the mayor of the Latvian capital.

We will remind you that the part of the street where the Russian diplomatic mission is located was also renamed in the capital of the Czech Republic.

The Russian Embassy in Prague is now located on Ukrainian Heroes Street.
