The next part of the aluminum products produced at the Ganja Production Complex in Azerbaijan has been sent to Istanbul.

The export product will be delivered to Turkey by a block train consisting of 72 containers within the framework of the "TURKUAZ" project, through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

According to information provided by "ADY Container" to "APA-Economics", the total weight of commodity products in these containers is more than 2000 tons.

The project is implemented in accordance with the memorandum of understanding on joint cargo transportation signed between "ADY Container" and "Azeraluminum" companies.

According to the memorandum, 486 containers were transported on the Ganja-Turkey route, 204 on the Turkey-Ganja route, and 176 on the China-Ganja route, totaling 866 containers.

Baked carbon anode blocks, which are strategic raw materials of the aluminum industry, were imported to Azerbaijan from China through the Middle Corridor and from Turkey through the BTQ demit road line.

It should be noted that since February 2021, when it started operating, about 7,000,000 20-foot equivalent containers have been transported between the two countries by means of the "TURKUAZ" train.

As a result of the measures implemented on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), positive dynamics are observed in the volume of multimodal container cargo transportation.

Thus, the volume of cargo transportation on the mentioned route increased by 37 percent during the 11 months of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021.
