New Delhi:

Two bike-borne boys today threw acid on a 17-year-old girl in south-west Delhi's Dwarka area, leaving her seriously injured and admitted to a hospital.

The sale of acid has been banned by the court.

In such a situation, the biggest question is that how is it available to the people even after the ban.

NDTV spoke to former Delhi Police DCP LN Rai and acid attack survivor.

Acid attack victim Dolly Srivastava said, "I was 13 years old when the acid attack happened on me. I was crying, screaming, shouting. It felt like someone has set me on fire. I There was a lot of jealousy. After that people used to make fun of me in the society. People used to say that she is a ghost. I did not even get the support of the police and the media. The case was also not registered soon.

Acid attack victim Dolly Srivastava said, "I would have got three lakh rupees anyway. But this does not happen, because our face was completely disfigured. Till now I have had 10 operations and every now and then . Then and then come out from the mouth of death. Again and again I feel pain. Our whole life gets spoiled. No action is taken against the accused. I loved to do make-up. But people hate my face. Don't get makeup done just by seeing."

Former Delhi Police DCP LN Rai said, "This incident is very serious. The victim told that her wounds have not yet healed. For this, some rules and regulations have been made by the Supreme Court, which is our job to implement." It is the responsibility of the police to implement the rules. But it is not followed. Court cases are decided in many years. The incident with the victim happened in 2013. But no action has been taken so far. People's mind I have no fear of the law."
