, a 44-year-old rapist, who had been hiding from justice for more than 10 years, was sentenced.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor proved in court that in December 2011, the accused tricked a young woman into his apartment and, using physical violence against her, raped her.

Having escaped from the hands of the criminal, the victim reported the crime to the law enforcement officers.

However, it was not immediately possible to detain the suspect - the man managed to escape.

The perpetrator was wanted for more than 10 years, but he did not escape punishment.

In 2021, thanks to the operational and investigative measures taken, the law enforcement officers managed to establish the whereabouts of the rapist and detain him in the territory of the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region, where he was hiding.

By the verdict of the Obolon District Court of Kyiv, the man was found guilty and sentenced to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

It will be recalled that
