The United States will not allow "Russian commentators" to dictate the military aid that the administration of President

Joe Biden

provides to Ukraine.

This was stated by the press secretary of the US Ministry of Defense, Patrick Ryder, reports

CNN

.

In this way, he commented on the statement of the Russian embassy in Washington, which warned of "

unforeseen consequences

" if the US hands over Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine to protect against Russian missile attacks on civilian infrastructure.

"I find it ironic and very telling that the officials of a country that has brutally attacked its neighbor by carrying out an illegal and unprovoked invasion, deliberately aimed at killing innocent civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure, that they choose to use words like provocation , to describe defense systems designed to save lives and protect civilians," Ryder said.

Ryder recalled that Russia could have de-escalated the conflict at any time, but instead, the Kremlin decided to "double the bet."

He also urged not to forget that Russia is the aggressor in this conflict.

It will be recalled that it was previously reported that Russia reacted to the plans of the USA to transfer powerful Patriot anti-missile systems to Ukraine in the near future

and threatened "unforeseen consequences"

.

In addition, we previously informed that the Pentagon

confirmed the transfer of Patriot systems to Ukraine
