Article 25 of the UN Charter states the obligation to accept and implement the decisions of the Security Council.

Therefore, it is not a positive experience that the Council ignores and misinterprets its decisions.

APA reports that Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev said this during open discussions on multilateralism at the UN Security Council.

The deputy minister said that the organization's resolutions regarding Azerbaijan have not been implemented for 27 years: "In those resolutions, an immediate, complete and unconditional end to the occupation of Azerbaijan's sovereign territory was demanded.

"For nearly 30 years, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their lands, they have been completely ignored and impunity has prevailed."

Fariz Rzayev reminded that in September 2020, in response to the large-scale armed provocation of Armenia, Azerbaijan was forced to launch a counter-offensive operation, as a result of which the territory of Azerbaijan was freed from occupation, and this was in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter and relevant decisions of the Council.

The deputy head of the MFA added that Azerbaijan is extending a hand of normalization to Armenia after the conflict.

He called on Armenia to stop its illegal activities, put an end to its territorial claims and focus on direct negotiations towards a diplomatic solution.
