[Reporter Lu Yixuan/Taipei Report] The 3rd US-Taiwan "Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue" (EPPD) in 2022 will be held simultaneously in Taipei and Washington DC in a mixed physical and video format.

The dialogue was hosted by Jose W. Fernandez, Undersecretary of Economics and Energy of the U.S. State Department, and Wang Meihua, Minister of Economic Affairs.

AIT explained that the dialogue broadly discussed responses to economic coercion, supply chain resilience and a secure energy transition.

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out today that under the auspices of AIT and the Representative Office in the United States (TECRO), Jose Fernandez, Under Secretary of the State Department for Economic Growth, Energy and Environmental Affairs, conducted an online , held the third US-Taiwan Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue in Washington on December 14.

AIT said that during his visit to Taiwan, Deputy Assistant Secretary Fernandez and Taiwanese interlocutors discussed a series of economic issues of mutual importance.

In addition, representatives from various departments of the U.S. government joined the meeting between Undersecretary Fernandez and Representative to the U.S. Xiao Meiqin, Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Meihua, Political Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cai Mingyan and other representatives.

AIT emphasized that the "Partners for Economic Prosperity Dialogue" provides an opportunity for the two economies to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen a strong economic partnership, which both sides welcome.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Taiwan and the United States conducted in-depth discussions on issues of common concern such as economic coercion, supply chain resilience, and secure energy transition, and exchanged views extensively on how to open up future areas of cooperation and strengthen information sharing.
