Reconstruction works on the M1 highway are nearing completion.

"APA-Economics" informs that this was reported by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Highways (AAYDA).

According to information, all these works have already been completed on a large part of the road.

At present, laying of a new asphalt-concrete surface with a wear layer along the road, drainage works in the necessary places of the project and construction of concrete bathtubs are being continued.

In parallel with the work done, road signs, information boards, installation of signal poles, construction of road and lighting lines are also being carried out.

The movement of motor vehicles is completely restricted in the area where works are being carried out.

2-way traffic in the opposite direction was provided during the period of repair and restoration works.

In order to ensure safe and unhindered two-way traffic, additional security measures were taken in the area, appropriate marking lines were drawn and temporary road signs were installed.

"Drivers are once again requested to approach the repair and restoration works with understanding, to be careful while driving in the mentioned area, to comply with the requirements of temporary road signs and traffic rules," AAYDA said in a statement.
