WEDNESDAY evening at Al Bayt Stadium was part of Morocco's dream to reach the World Cup final, but they say efforts cannot exceed God's plans.-

Fans around the world, and not only Moroccans, had pressed their snooze buttons to let the dream last longer, keeping it at 90 minutes, but they woke up to no avail.

Morocco had already exceeded expectations by reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar 2022, beating Belgium, Canada, Spain and Portugal.-

Since beating Belgium, Morocco hoped to qualify for the last 16.

Expectations rose when they beat Spain.

Dream lost faith after beating Portugal.-

The French experts ensured that the Lions of Atlas did not finish any other place than the third winner.

It has certainly hurt the Moroccans, some fans explain how they were hurt by their defeat.-

"This is football, that's how it works," says Fatima, a Moroccan fan.

We are proud of the team, Moroccan football has changed at the moment, we have not lost in any way, but we are champions."

-When the final whistle blew, the Moroccan players gathered and paid their respects to their fans as France celebrated their second consecutive final.

-"We are proud, that's how I feel now, Amine, another Moroccan fan says.

"We have written history while still young, and now they have expectations for future competitions, we will not give up," he adds.-

"On the other hand, I am very hurt," says the fan.

It has been an interesting journey, we are happy and proud, we will support you until the end.”-

"We are proud of the Lion of Atlas" says Lamia.

"None of us dreamed that we could reach the semi-finals, in fact we want to win third place, but it's okay even if it doesn't happen, we've already done more than we expected."
