In Warsaw, the training of the first group of medics from Ukraine began at the air rescue base.

They will be trained in the air evacuation of civilians and military personnel from the battlefield and from the combat zone.

Over the course of ten days, doctors and paramedics will master data on providing assistance in the air.

Such trainings were organized on the initiative of the two first ladies - of Ukraine and Poland.

This is reported in the story of TSN.ua.

Save lives not only on the ground, but also in the air.

Ten Ukrainian doctors and paramedics came to Poland to gain new experience.

Evgeny from Cherkassy transported both civilians and military personnel from the front-line and de-occupied territories in an ambulance.

He says that if necessary, after training, he will switch to a rotorcraft.

"We are engaged in the evacuation of patients from the front-line areas - Kherson region, Kharkiv direction, we are learning, acquiring new knowledge. First of all, this is professional growth, I want to learn something new in order to be able to help people, patients, victims," says the doctor of emergency medicine Yevhen Tyshchenko from Cherkasy.

It should be noted that aeromedical evacuation to Ukraine became operational in 2021 in two pilot regions - Kyiv and Lviv.

Because of the war, flights are rarely carried out, each is a secret special operation, such as: evacuation of the wounded after a large-scale terrorist attack in Vinnytsia in mid-July.

Ukrainian "emergency" doctors will study in Poland for 10 days.

First, theory, tactical medicine.

And then real duty at the air rescue service bases.

Together with their Polish colleagues, they will fly out on challenges.

These trainings are the first stage, say the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Soon, fifty more of our doctors will learn to work in the air.

"Now during the war, there is a special need for such urgent transportation of patients who have really great risks to life, and we need such teams in every emergency medical care center, especially since we are heading to the European Union," says the Deputy Minister of Health Iryna Mykychak.

"We want to support Ukraine on the way to the implementation of European medical evacuation service standards. This is a process that has been going on for many years. Poland has been implementing it for 10 years, because it is a systematic purchase of helicopters, training. Aeromedical evacuation is a model for providing medical assistance and Ukraine is integrating with the EU also implements these standards," says Polish Minister of Health Adam Nedzelski.

During the 10 months of the full-scale invasion, Polish doctors helped to transport, including by air, two thousand adults and one and a half thousand children with cancer to hospitals in Poland and other European countries.

And this process continues.

As a reminder, a Ukrainian language course has been launched in Poland for Ukrainians who speak Russian and want to switch to their native language.
