Georgia and Azerbaijan have close economic cooperation, strategic partnership and, most importantly, friendly relations.

APA's local office reports that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said this at the meeting of the Georgian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental joint economic commission.

He noted that the exemplary partnership existing between the two countries contributes to making the South Caucasus a more stable region.

"We have strong friendship and friendly neighborly relations.

We are glad that we hosted President Ilham Aliyev a few weeks ago.

It was a very important trip for Georgia.

We discussed the current strategic projects with the President of Azerbaijan and made plans that we will continue to talk about today.

I would like to note with satisfaction that the meetings of the joint commission have become more active in recent times.

I had the honor of participating in this commission last year as well.

Let me also note that this year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

There is full understanding and friendship between our peoples and countries, and these relations are getting stronger.

I must note that with this exemplary partnership, we contribute to making the South Caucasus a more stable region.
