Currently, the Ukrainian army does not have the necessary weapons that could destroy the illegally built Crimean Bridge and the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.

Mykhailo Samus, deputy director of the Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research Center for International Affairs, told about this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"We currently do not have enough high-precision long-range missiles to destroy important enemy objects at full depth. Unfortunately, we do not have the means that could just now destroy important objects both in Crimea and in other occupied territories. In addition moreover, it would be very good to strike on Russian territory at important objects, so that the Russians start to feel not so comfortable. I think it would be fair if they felt what the destruction of Russia is like," the expert said.

Samus is sure that the Russian generals understand that the war has been lost, so they are trying to create a humanitarian crisis in order to persuade the Ukrainians to negotiate with the Russian Federation.

"Missile capabilities, as Zaluzhny wrote in an article a few months ago, Russia has missiles with a range of 2.5 thousand km, we have a maximum of 100 km. Maybe a little more, if we take the Point-U. We should also get such means, if still get further. We need missile defense, which we don't have now or in very limited quantities. We need long-range anti-missile assets like the Patriot that will create the first echelon of countermeasures against missile threats. The generals in

Russia understand that from a military point of view "The Russian Federation will no longer be able to achieve anything.

You can throw Russians here (in Ukraine - ed.) forever, but it will not change anything. And one of these tools they are still considering is the creation of a humanitarian disaster due to the destruction of the energy infrastructure in the winter," the expert believes.

He emphasized that Ukraine needs American Patriot anti-missile systems to protect itself from Iranian ballistic missiles.

He believes that if the United States began to actively discuss the issue of transferring the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, this may indicate that Iran has agreed to transfer missiles to Russia to attack Ukraine.

"This (

humanitarian crisis - ed

.), perhaps

, is the last chance to seize the initiative

,

to come to them on their knees and beg.

The generals believe that this is the only way they can change. I think Russia will persuade Iran to hand over the missiles to it. Therefore, I think active negotiations have begun on the part of the US to hand over the Patriot to Ukraine, because they have already received indisputable facts that Iran is handing over ballistic missiles to Russia. If the US does not hand over these anti-missile systems to us

, there will indeed be a big problem to stop the ballistic missiles.

Ukrainian systems created in to the Soviet Union, they are not designed to shoot down ballistic missiles of the type that Iran will transfer to Russia. And therein lies the problem," the expert concluded.

It will be recalled that earlier the former commander of the US forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Godges, believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will de-occupy Crimea by August 2023.
