On December 15, 2022, the 17th Session of the UNESCO Committee on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Time of Armed Conflict began its work at the UNESCO Headquarters.

Azerbaijan is represented in the session at the level of the leadership of the Permanent Mission of our country to UNESCO and

the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of

Cultural Heritage

under the Ministry of

Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to UNESCO told APA that the issue of forming the Committee's office was discussed on the opening day of the session.

According to the unanimously adopted decision, Azerbaijan was elected to the position of deputy chairman of the Committee.

During the session, which will last for 2 days, the report of the activities carried out by the Secretariat in the direction of cultural heritage protection will be heard, the synergy of the 1954 Hague Convention and its 2 Protocols with other UNESCO Conventions, the mobilization of resources related to the implementation of the Convention and a number of other important issues will be discussed. .
