As part of the December 14 prisoner exchange, Ukraine handed over to Russia a UOC MP priest who was sentenced for treason.

Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reported this on the air of the Yedyny Novyny telethon.

Yusov said about this fact, talking about an interesting detail regarding the exchange of a US citizen, whom the Russian Federation handed over to Ukraine.

"The US citizen is an activist who stayed in Kherson and was illegally arrested by the occupation authorities. I can tell you an interesting detail. Today, the Russians announced in their Telegram channels that

. I will say that it was not without his help in this context that a US citizen returned to Ukraine today, and can return home," the representative of Ukrainian intelligence said.

It should be noted that the Russian public is distributing a video recording of the mentioned priest, whose name is Andriy Pavlenko, immediately after it was handed over to the Russian side.

Let us add that this priest may be one of the ministers of the church in Lysychansk, Luhansk region, who worked for the occupiers and was sentenced to 12 years in prison for this.

It will be recalled that on December 14, Ukraine and Russia held another exchange of prisoners, during which 64 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine returned home, as well as the American citizen Murekezy Suedi, who helped the Ukrainians.
