Shen Rongjin, vice president of the Executive Yuan, revealed on the 6th that ASML's new plant in Taiwan will start construction in July next year, which is the company's largest investment in Taiwan, and plans to bring the European supply chain to Taiwan.

It is reported that its supply chain is mainly equipment maintenance and assembly, and the smart technology involved will still remain in the Netherlands, but equipment OEM, assembly, and back-end maintenance may have the opportunity to move to Taiwan.

Shen Rongjin also said in an exclusive interview with the media that not only ASML, Micron also has a large investment in Taiwan, and the most advanced manufacturing process will be launched in Taiwan next year.

It is understood that Meiguang will increase its investment in Taiwan by 80 billion yuan (including purchases) next year.

As for the development of TSMC in Taiwan, Shen Rongjin said in an interview a few days ago that the four 2nm factories of TSMC will be expanded in the second phase of Zhuke Baoshan, and the rest will be arranged in Zhongke Park. Zhongke also passed the preliminary environmental impact assessment on the 5th. TSMC's new 1nm factory will be located in Longtan, Taoyuan.
