Since February 24, the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Israel has accepted 15,000 non-Jewish

refugees

from Ukraine and provided public housing for 100 of them.

Israel intends to evict 100 Ukrainian refugees who are currently living in public housing that Israel provided them for free earlier this year.

This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

Last week, Israel informed the Ukrainians that they were being evicted and that they should look for housing on their own.

The Israeli government said that the

reason for the eviction was the end of the lease.

Persons with disabilities and children with special needs are among those who can stay on the street.

These people are not recognized as refugees in Israel, so they do not have the right to official employment and opening bank accounts.

"The contract with one of the operators that accepts refugees due to the war has ended... The period of state-supported stay for war refugees was initially limited to three months, and then it was extended again and again," the government officials explained.

It will be recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale offensive of Russia, more than 14.5 million citizens left Ukraine, of which at least 11.7 million went to the countries of the European Union.

4.7 million internally displaced persons are registered in Ukraine.

Starting in January, Poland is planning to introduce 100% payment for living in refugee centers for all able-bodied Ukrainians who do not find work for 3 months and do not rent apartments.
