"Aren't Bulgarian and Romanian citizens European citizens?

Or what do we tell them that they are second class citizens?

They don't deserve to be part of Schengen, they don't deserve to be part of the Eurozone?" asked the leader of the European Liberals Ilhan Küçük

Ilhan Kyuchyuk was born on September 16, 1985 in the town of Sevlievo.

In the European elections in May 2014, it was during the debate regarding the decision of the member states (EU Council), Bulgaria and Romania to remain outside the Schengen area.

Kyucyuk emphasized the efforts made by the Commission to support the membership of both countries in Schengen.

European Commissioner Ylva Johansson: The refusal to accept Bulgaria and Romania in Schengen is a gift for Putin

According to him, in 11 years, a number of changes have occurred both in the EU and outside it, but unfortunately, the attitudes of some countries towards Bulgaria and Romania are constant.

The MEP pointed out to his colleagues that the peoples of both countries paid a high price to be part of NATO and the EU.

And categorically stated:

"We will go this way because we believe that we have the right geopolitical orientation.

We want to be full-fledged and full-fledged members of the EU, but for this there cannot be two "Europes", there cannot be double standards.

There can be a single united Europe.

Therefore, let's join forces and work so that 2023 will be the year of Bulgaria and Romania in Schengen!"
