There will be no change in the price of heating for households in the country from January 1.

This was announced by the Association of Heating Companies on Wednesday - a day after Bulgargaz requested a 40% increase in the natural gas tariff for January.

A similar request was made some time ago by the chairman of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) Ivan Ivanov.

The regulator must now approve the price requested by Bulgargaz.

However, heating companies have warned that price increases can be expected from July 1, 2023, if prices on international markets continue to rise.

In recent days, the quotations are going up faster and faster because of the cooling in Europe, which increases the consumption and, accordingly, the demand for natural gas.

Slowly and recently full gas storages are starting to feed the mixes of almost all countries.

The big problem, however, is the eventual end of China's zero-Covid policy, because opening up the country will lead to huge demand and a major jump in the price of liquefied natural gas.
