, law enforcement officers detained a man who stabbed a friend 17 times.

The man died on the spot from his injuries. 

This was reported in the press service of the Kyiv police.

It is noted that the men were drinking alcohol in an apartment on Volodymyr Ivasyuk Avenue.

Later, a conflict arose between them.

During the quarrel, the detainee pounced on the victim and stabbed him with a knife in various parts of the body.

In particular, the deceased had stab wounds to the head.

"The detainee explained that he allegedly began to defend himself from the opponent who had injured him. So the man in response grabbed a knife and inflicted numerous blows on the body, neck, arms and legs of an acquaintance. Experts found a total of seventeen stab wounds on the body of the 41-year-old deceased - said the head of the Obolon police department, Viktor Mykhaylenko.

During the inspection of the scene, the police found and seized a kitchen knife and clothes with traces of blood.

The perpetrator was detained.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail.

The detainee was informed of suspicion of intentional murder, for which he faces up to 15 years in prison.
