"Bulgargaz" requested a new price of natural gas for January 2023, higher by nearly 40% than the current one.

"The price for January is dependent on the spot markets of the European exchanges.

By the end of December there may be changes, but the tendency is to keep the prices.

This mix includes a large part of the gas stored in Chiren, and it was at high prices," commented Kiril Temelkov, deputy chairman of the Bulgarian Gas Association, in "This Morning".

"Azerbaijani gas enters the mix with its full amount, but in winter consumption is greater, which reduces its share in the mix," he clarified.

"Unfortunately, there is no comment on gas compensation for domestic consumers.

This means that whatever the amendment is for Bulgargaz, it will be for end users with a little less," he emphasized.

According to him, the budget for 2023 is key for compensations, but it is not likely to be adopted.

"If people give up gas and switch to electricity, it will put a strain on the electricity distribution network," Temelkov pointed out.

"The price of gas in Chiren plays a big role.

There it is pushed to a higher price," added Kremen Georgiev, chairman of the Association of Heating Companies.

"From January 1, there will be no higher heating bills.

There may be such from July 1 next year," he stressed.
