Two US citizens and five Russian citizens have been indicted in the United States on suspicion of sending US military technology to the Russian Federation for the benefit of the Russian army.

Among the suspects is a man who is called an FSB agent.

This is reported by the BBC with reference to information from the US Department of Justice.

The indictment alleges that the mentioned seven persons illegally acquired and exported multifunctional electronic components that can be used in both civilian and military industries, in particular, for the production of nuclear and hypersonic weapons.

They also allegedly bought and exported to Russia American ammunition for snipers, although this is prohibited.

Three members of the spy network have been detained, four more are being sought.

Among those detained is 48-year-old Russian Vadym Konoshchenok, whom the US authorities consider an FSB spy.

He is currently in Estonia and is to be extradited to the United States.

Konoshchenok allegedly transported or personally transported equipment purchased in the United States from Estonia to Russia.

"This equipment, which can help the quantum computer industry, the hypersonic weapons industry, poses a great danger in the hands of our enemies. The FBI will relentlessly monitor such shipments that support the industries of enemy countries, while continuing to protect innovative strategic technologies," said FBI Director Christopher Wray .

According to the Ministry of Justice, the defendants were connected to the Moscow companies "Sernia Engineering" and "Sertal" LLC, controlled by the Russian special services.

These firms, in particular, supply electronic components and new technologies for the military.

If found guilty, the accused faces up to 30 years in prison.

We will remind you that the former Soviet soldier, who retired from the army in the early 90s and lived in Vinnytsia since then, worked for the Russian GRU, helping the occupiers in the rocket bombing of energy facilities in the region.
