On December 14, the Senate of the Czech Republic made a decision to recognize the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced this on Twitter.

He also expressed gratitude to the Czech Senate and emphasized that punishment for all past and present crimes of Russia is inevitable.

"I welcome the decision of the Senate of the Czech Republic to recognize the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians. I am grateful to my Czech friends for establishing the truth and restoring historical justice. Punishment for all past and present crimes of Russia is inevitable," the president wrote.

It will be recalled that 19 countries have already recognized the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians.

The day before, the German Bundestag voted for a resolution 

recognizing the Holodomor

 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
