Three evaders who tried to flee to Moldova were detained near the village of Kubei, Bolgrad district, Odesa region.

When the men were asked what they were doing near the state border, they said they had "lost a flock of sheep."

This was reported by the Izmail border detachment.

Border guards reported that at 4:00 a.m. at the state border, they detained three local residents, aged 19 to 25, who were trying to illegally cross the border and enter Moldova.

"They explained to the border guard that they were looking for a flock of sheep, but no one believed these tales, because their clothing was frankly not similar to that worn by shepherds, and they also had basic necessities with them," the border guards reported.

The border guards drew up a report on the night "shepherds" under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border".
