handed over 15 generator lighting towers to Ukraine to ensure the work of energy workers in the dark hours of the day. 

The ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, Yulia Kovaliv, announced this on Facebook.  

"Our energy heroes are working 24/7 to repair damaged infrastructure and restore light to homes. 15 generator light towers, each 8 meters high, designed to carry out night-time repair work on energy facilities, have already arrived at of Ukraine," the post says.

Also, according to her, by the end of the year, partners from the Canada-Ukraine Foundation will transfer 50 such installations to Ukraine.

Capacity deficit in the energy system of Ukraine

Since October, Russia has launched massive missile strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure almost every week.

Due to the attacks in Ukrainian cities, the situation with electricity supply is extremely difficult - oblenergo uses planned and emergency blackouts due to a shortage of capacities.

Weather conditions complicate the work of repair crews.

On Tuesday, December 13, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that

are needed just for the superficial quick restoration of Ukrainian energy facilities destroyed by Russian strikes .
